Legalization of the interior medium voltage network of Manacor hospital.
Our colleague Antoni Adrover has had the pleasure of being in charge of the construction management of a very special complex for us, the general hospital of Manacor.
This project consisted of the Legalization of the hospital's internal medium-voltage network.
¿How do you get a Hospital that works with a contracted power of about 1,000 kwa reaches a maximum of 6,800 kwa?
Recalculating, modifying, revising parameters and integrating the elements of the transformation center.
Looking for the best solution to be able to pass all the interior wiring, distributions, security, fire, vibration, noise, even the calculation of the high magnetic field of these equipments.
And with all this, it is essential to verify that there can be no problems with regard to human health.
The key steps in this project have been, among others, el CMM redesign adapting it to what will be the definitive future collection and providing efficiency. This line will feed the hospital directly from the Manacor high voltage electrical substation.
As foresighted as we are in the #teamtalat, we have prepared this casuistry in order to optimize resources.
It has also been laid, an internal medium-voltage network line which consists of in a 300 m ring which is buried in a service gallery of the hospital and connects the MWC with the two private transformer stations in the hospital.
These are Transformation center of the ambulatorywhich contains 2 transformers of 1,000 kwa eachand on the other hand, the Transformer station of this industrial buildingwhich will carry all the air conditioning machines and all the elements required for the maintenance of the hospital itself, including 3 transformers of 1,600 kwa each.
All this adds up to a total of 6,800 kwa. Currently operating at a power of 4,000 kwa.
To understand the dimensions of the power of this project, we can make a comparison with a hotel of the same size. 200 roomswhich comprises between 800 and 1,000 kwa.
Another key work of this project has been the construction of a whole new building, of important dimensions, which will be in charge of the outpatient and ambulatory part of the hospital itself.
So the next crucial step in this expansion project has been the Transition Plan from the original building to the current one.
It is classified as ZERO ZONEThe area affected by a total power outage of a building or any space.
According to IB Healtha power outage of the external power supply network. more than 4 hoursdespite the availability of an emergency power generator, is considered a zero and therefore, the Hospital Eviction Protocol The patient's condition, starting with the most critical patients.
For this transition to the new building, we estimate about 8 hours of performance and execution time for the handover work.
Did we decide to activate the Eviction Protocol?
No. We got down to work with the Transition Plan, scheduled over the weekend and reducing hospital activity to a minimum.
How?
Adding an additional generator set to the existing emergency generator set. Synchronizing the latter first to the hospital's internal network, so that when the current supply was cut off, it was a matter of microseconds before services were affected.
Once the definitive supply and transition works were completed. We re-synchronized with the main grid by removing the additional generator set.
