In the sports facilities a series of circumstances arise that make it necessary to rely on innovation as the guiding thread of the entire project. These are constructions of public use, often from large dimensions and that offer various services, from training and sports facilities to hospitality and health-related services.
Thus, when it comes to designing an engineering project for a sports facility, the search for the most suitable solutions that are functional and sustainable at the same time is fundamental. And in order to find them, it is essential to rely on the technological innovation and creativity.
Efficiency and innovation in sports facilities
At TALAT We have extensive experience in various types of work for sports facilities. In order to carry them out, we do not hesitate to use and apply the most advanced innovative tools and methodologies in the market.
In addition to the demands that sports facilities must meet by their very nature, in expansion projects, it is also necessary to integrate this project into an existing work. Therefore, these works will not only have to be adapt to the circumstances but also make improvements to the sports facility. Often, this involves coordination with the multiple agents involved in the project; in order for communication to be fluid and to promote collaboration among them, it is very useful to use the BIM methodologyespecially in large-scale projects.
This methodology, based on the collaborative workThe "building information modeling" ("BIM") provides a global view of the project and allows its integral management in all phases: design, planning, documentation and certification, environmental impact assessment, construction management and execution, etc. The "building information modeling" (Building Information Modeling, BIM) provides a centralized model of digital project information that all stakeholders can access and collaborate with.
Tools such as the methodology BIM The work program allows us to focus on issues that are fundamental to the construction of tomorrow. More than a goal to be achieved, the sustainability in constructionWhether in a sports, residential or any other type of facility, it has become a basic requirement. A BIM working method improves the efficiency of all processes, allowing for greater productivity and optimization of resources. But there are other innovative strategies to promote the sustainability of projects for sports facilities.
In a sports facility, measures can be taken to regulate the energy consumption of users, but there are minimum requirements that must be met. For this reason, technological solutions must be incorporated right from the conception of the expansion or remodeling of the facilities, in order to increase efficiency in all aspects.
This eagerness to develop construction projects as sustainable as possible is one of our maxims, but we are not the only ones. We share this objective with the EcoXpert programof which we are partners. The main objective of this international network in the building sector is to achieve the following goals "smarter, more efficient and sustainable solutions". EcoXpert-certified businesses have the ability to offer our clients systems of digitalization and automation that increase the efficiency of the buildings, in addition to being able to to help them achieve their objectives of economic and environmental sustainability.
Based on this premise of using technological innovation to increase the efficiency of building installations, we have created the digital tool TALAT Smart Hotel. This platform allows monitoring, analyzing data and controlling the management of the installations The fact of having more information makes it possible to manage better, make better decisions, and this considerably increases the efficiency of the buildings. Despite being a tool designed especially for hotel facilities, we have also successfully incorporated it into a sports facility of the caliber of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center.
Examples of TALAT projects in sports facility expansions
The Rafa Nadal Tennis Center of Manacor has counted on our services on more than one occasion. Initially, we collaborated by providing an executive management and engineering project for the entire sports facilities complex, which includes a school, hotel, residence, green areas, tennis courts, locker rooms and hospitality area. We were in charge of implementing our TALAT Smart Hotel software for the integral management of the Center. This BMS system (intelligent building management system) improves energy efficiency and enables automation and control of all installations.
After this intervention, TALAT also collaborated in the recent expansion of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center with the construction of 18 new courts and a new three-story building for administrative uses. On this occasion, we were in charge of the engineering design, construction supervision and coordination of health and safety matters.
From tennis we move on to soccer with a very different project, since in this case it is a sports facility that is, at the same time, a venue that hosts spectators. In line with RCD Mallorca's good momentum, the club opted for the remodeling of the Son Moix Stadium with different interventions, including the enlargement of the capacity. As part of a large and complex project, TALAT took charge of all electrical and telecommunications installationwhich included the lighting of the Sol grandstand and its telecommunications nodes.
Another team that has been renovating its stadium is Real Madrid. The white club has achieved, with the New Santiago BernabeuThe company has one of the most innovative and efficient soccer stadiums in the world. Among the interventions that have been carried out, it is worth mentioning the construction of the subway hypogeum that houses the turf of the field on non-match days; a work that is a true marvel of engineering. It is a kind of subway parking with 6 levels where the trays containing the grass are deposited. At TALAT, we have been in charge of the design and execution of the air-conditioning of this underground greenhouseThis work has been done in coordination with the large team involved in this impressive remodeling project of such an emblematic sports facility as the Santiago Bernabéu. In order to guarantee a good multidisciplinary coordination, the project has been approached entirely with the BIM methodology.
In addition, at TALAT we have also implemented the electrical and mechanical installations of the largest climbing wall indoor Europe, the Sputnik of Las Rozas in Madrid.
And, speaking of sports facilities, it is worth mentioning that Talat has engineering, project management and execution of installations. Padel Bendinat in Calvià, which is currently under development.
These are just a few examples of the various engineering works, integral installations or project management that we have carried out in sports facilities. To find out how you can adapt this knowledge and innovation to your project, you only have to tell us what it consists of and we will get in touch to start working on it.
