Son Moix Stadium RCD Mallorca

The works of this first phase consist of the construction of a new grandstand in the lower part of the Sol stand, with a new inclination that brings the spectators only 8.5 meters closer to the pitch. It will also have an overhang that will cover 6,556 spectators on rainy days and protect them from the sun in high temperatures. With this work, the stadium's capacity will be around 23,000 spectators, at a cost of 5.4 million euros.
Under the direction of architect Izaskun LarzabalTalat has been in charge of all the electricity and telecommunications infrastructure, as well as the telecommunications and lighting nodes of the Sol grandstand. The stadium competed for this award alongside the spectacular Al Maktoum Stadium (Dubai), Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London), Puskas Arena (Budapest), Papua Bangkit Stadium (Indonesia) and VTB Arena Dynamo (Moscow).
The award values innovation, creativity, reflection of local heritage, and also components such as sustainability, energy efficiency and integration, both social, cultural and economic, factors that are also being taken into account in the current Son Moix project, which is scheduled for completion in 2024.
